Hello fellow cafe lovers!

Welcome back to Cards and Cafés. I recently caught up with one of my good friends Lauren from high school. I haven’t seen her in months and there’s nothing than catching up over a good cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast.
We had both heard so many good things about this café and thought that we’d give it ago. The last cafe we went to was Charlotte’s Corner, which we both felt was rather disappointing. We were both excited about this place and hoped that it would change our view of cafe’s this side of town.
FOOD & DRINKS
I got to the café earlier than Lauren so I decided to order a coffee while I wait. The coffee came out relatively quickly and I sipped on it while I waited for Lauren to arrive. I have to say that the coffee was pretty good; it was perfectly strong enough and had a great flavour. In cases like this I only wish that the coffee came in large glasses.
Coffee rating = 3/5
I ordered the French toast, which was served with banana and berries. It was very tasty, as I love having fresh fruit with my French toast. The crunch on the French toast accompanied with the soft fresh fruit was like a party with your taste buds. The two different textures was a great combination that left you happy. The only negative aspect that I found with this dish was that it was a little dry. It needed some kind of sauce or syrup.

Lauren ordered the smashed avo with poached egg. She said that it had a great mixture of flavours and textures. The soft poached egg on the crunchy toast left her smiling. She also said that she was very happy with the amount of avo that was served; comparing it to others she’s had in the past. The eggs were also cooked to perfection and really the tomato and olive mix.

ENVIRONMENT & SERVICE
The service was relatively good, but they were a bit slow taking orders and bring the food out, but the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The only other negative I would have to say is that the café itself is very small inside and with that the tables are very close today. We felt that we were sitting on top of the people around us. We also thought that it was noisy inside and therefore struggled to hear each other.
They do have seating outside, which would be a lot quieter and spacious, but as we went at the end of winter, it was a little cold to sit outside.
