What’s up café lovers?
Welcome back to Cards and Cafés! I hope you’ve all been well and are ready to come on another food adventure with me. Once again I went out for breakfast with my good friend Beth. As we enjoy going out once a week for a catch up we thought that we would go out to Fitzroy and try Stagger Lee’s. I first came across Stagger Lee’s on Instagram and after seeing their page and all their delicious food I knew I had to visit them.
Stagger Lee’s quite easy to find as it sits on Brunswick Street. Parking is relatively simple as there are a number of parking spots along both sides of Brunswick Street. Just keep in mind that these parking spots are in a two-hour parking zone.
FOOD & DRINKS
Stagger Lee’s has a fantastic menu, with a number of interesting dishes to choose from. Dishes that any gym junkie will given into and have as their cheat meal.
The following menu photos were taken in July 2016 and might have changed since then.
I ordered a latte as I usually do when I go out for breakfast. I felt that it was one of the best coffees that I’d had in a very long time. It had a fantastic rich and creamy flavour that made every sip as fantastic as the last.
Coffee rating: 5/5

Beth ordered a chai latte as she really enjoyed it. She said that it had a fantastic flavour.
Chai rating: 4/5

Beth ordered Dr Marty’s Crumpets with lemon curd, fresh strawberries, raspberry sauce, pistachio crumb and sweet basil. Beth said that the dish had fantastic flavours. She said that the lemon curd was delicious! She said that it wasn’t to sweet, but instead had a great citrus flavour that went perfectly with the crumpets. She also said that it was the perfect serving size where she didn’t feel hungry or too full after finishing.
We both loved the look of the bright pink of the raspberry sauces and the green of the basil against the white plate and the golden brown of the crumpets.
She said that she would definitely eat this dish again and would recommend it to others out there that enjoy a sweet breakfast.

I ordered the espresso waffles with honeycomb, double choc ice cream, espresso chocolate sauce and berries. I thought that this dish was INCREDIBLE!!!! The waffles themselves were great! They had and incredible crunch on the outside and were soft and fluffy on the inside.
I only wished that the sauce had a stronger espresso flavour. I personally felt that the chocolate over powered the espresso. But I still loved the sauced and thought that they went perfectly with the waffles.
The honeycomb was really tasty and I loved the different flavour and texture that it brought to this dish. The crunch against the soft waffles and the smooth ice cream was like a party in your mouth, with every mouthful as enjoyable as the last and every bite worth the calories they contained.

ENVIRONMENT & SERVICE
We both loved the exposed brick wall alone the one side of the café and the wooden features across the roof and the wall near the kitchen. The different textured walls really helped to give the café character and help it to stand out amounts other cafés in the area. The big windows at the front of the café helped to bring in natural light, which helped to add warmth to the space.
The employees are all really friendly and helpful and made Beth and I feel at home.
This was one of favourite cafés that we had visited together and we would definitely go back.
